Seroquel is used to treat major depressive disorder (MDD). It is also used to treat schizophrenia.
Seroquel is used with or without dieting to treat or prevent bipolar disorder (manic depression). You should not take sertraline (Zoloft, 5 milligrams) if you have had bipolar disorder (manic depression) or have been taking this medication for it.
Read the Patient Information Leaflet if available from your pharmacist before you start taking sertraline and each time you get a refill. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Take this medication by mouth as directed by your doctor, usually once daily with food.
The recommended dose is one 200 mg tablet once a day. You may take this medication with or without food. If you take sertraline more than once a day, your doctor will tell you dose and how long to take this medication. So, the minimum dose of sertraline is one 300 mg tablet twice a day. However, the maximum dose is 400 mg twice a day. So, you may start at a low dose and slowly increase your dose. Take the medicine about 1 to 2 hours before you get on a high dose. You should get on a low dose before the first dose of sertraline. So, you will have less chance to take sertraline than you would if you took 300 mg twice a day.
If you are taking a cyclophosphamide (Adriamycin) tablet, take it about 30 minutes before you are on a plan to get on a high dose. Your doctor will tell you how long to take this medication so that you are able to get on a higher dose and how often it is needed.
This medication may cause you to have a fast, even heartbeat, feeling or being unusually slow in movement or speech, feeling drowsy (trouble having words and controlling speech), feeling dizzy, confused and less able to tell when you are or how you are feeling. If you experience these or any other symptoms of dementia (such as memory problems and trouble form change), stop using this medication and call your doctor in the future.
Serious side effects have been reported including confusion, hallucinations, agitation, agitation, anxiety, coma, seizures, coma, decreased sexual ability, low sexual ability, low body temperature, dementia (seizures), yellowing of eyes or skin, enlarged prostate and urinary incontinence.

In general, lithium, antipsychotic medications (medications that treat mental illness), antipsychotics (medications used to treat psychotic disorders), antidepressants (medications used to treat major depressive disorder), and other medications that treat mental illness (such as lithium, antipsychotic medications, antidepressants) are usually not used to treat bipolar disorder (manic depression) for two weeks after you stop taking a medication. However, sertraline may be helpful in treating other mental illness that does not respond to medication.
